The Blind Taco Taste 2nd Edition
A unique dinner experience, tasting delicious Mexican Tacos in ‘the dark’…
#TheBlindTaco is my personal yearly fundraising dinner event dedicated to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB).
The goal is to create awareness about vision loss & blindness, and having a good time.
You may not know but there is a shortage of guide dogs in Canada. Families are finding difficult and in some cases impossible to obtain such needed service, which is also potentially life-saving.
The wait could take 3 years or more and just a handful of accredited agencies in Canada train this kind of dogs.
They can’t keep up with the demand. Some ask families to wait years, others have closed to new applications.
On average, agencies across Canada get between 3 to 4 phone calls everyday people wanting a dog, and they have to turn them away.
As not just for the visually impaired, people with hearing disabilities, kids with autism, people with post-traumatic disorders, etc. need service dogs.
Dogs take up to 2 years to train and a cost of $30K each or more, funded only, through donations!
There is a crisis for service dogs in Canada and CNIB has stepped up with a brand new program for that , and I want to be part of that change. Would you?
Thank you for reading my pledge and I wish to seeing you that night.
2 meat tacos (vegan option too for vegetarians)
Rice, beans and green salad
Ticket per person: $49CAD
This year, we will be supporting the new CNIB’s #guidedogs program!
I look forward to seeing you there!
