Sydney by the nite.
What a cruise we ended today, we kicked off from three overnights in Sydney, then rough waters in the Tasman sea for +40 hours once we set sail, people suffering the consequences of navigating in 7 to 9 meter waves, etc. I wouldn’t be surprised if some 1st time cruisers will be at the end just that, 1st and last time cruises after this experience.
To me though, rough waters are fun, to a certain point, as I can see the majestic of the ocean with its high waves and how much respect we have to have them. The Captain couldn’t go to top speed otherwise more people may get seasick. The constant moving and shaking must disrupt the body system that is not accustomed to it, specially exposing the body for long periods of time. Even that I have been four months already in these waters it gets tiring after a certain point, in this case, it was +40 continuous hours of rocky waters to arrive to Wellington, NZ.
It is really amazing to see the vastness of the ocean….you better come to realize it after hours and hours of endless blue waves surrounding you. Then, a tiny line pops up in the horizon, and you know by then that your target is finally of reaching distance. One can just imagine what an experience have been for first time settlers of these lands, when these 1st settlers decided to leave their comfort zone and adventured to the unknown…
Once one start to gaze into the magnificent beauty of New Zealand when we approach its land, the rough waters, long hours and other incommodities banished at the end, and make it all worth it to just have the privilege of being there.
Going back to Sydney by the nite. Since the weather was a bit harsh on us for most of the itinerary, we consequently had a late arrival which at the same time resulted in a late departure for the next turn around. But like anything else in live, from a negative situation you can always find a positive outcome, in this case, to leave the beautiful city of Sydney at night and see how spectacular it glows, as you can see in these pictures.
